Crosley Basic Turntable Cartridge Replacement Instructions

To remove a Crosley turntable cartridge/stylus, gently push down on the front of the needle and pull it forward from the headshell.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Steps to Remove the Crosley Cartridge/Stylus:

  1. Position Yourself:
Hold the headshell (the part the cartridge sits on) with one hand.
Use the other hand to unclip the tonearm from the safety latch.
  2. Separating the Cartridge:
Gently push down on the front of the needle with your thumbnail or a small screwdriver, or use your fingertips on the ridges on either side of the stylus.
Pull the stylus body away from the cartridge in one motion.
The stylus should come off easily.
  3. Important Notes:
    Carefully pry:
Where the red needle assembly meets the black cartridge, gently and firmly insert a sharp edge to pry it off.
    Hinge First:
When inserting a new cartridge, ensure the hinge is in place first, then snap it into position, ensuring the needle stem falls into the saddle.
    Always remove the stylus guard
before removing the cartridge or stylus to protect it from damage.
    Be Gentle with the Wires:
If you remove the wires, be very careful, as they are delicate. Pull the wires from the metal tips, never from the wire itself.
